Biography

Dr. Rebecca Raciborski is a health economist and health services researcher who has devoted her career primarily to the study of mental health outcomes and implementation of evidence-based practices to improve mental health care. She is currently the Methods Core Director for the Center for Mental Healthcare and Outcomes Research, a VA COIN. Her active research collaborations include studies about treatment of opioid use disorder among patients from different minoritized groups, interventions to prevent veteran suicide, and cost-effectiveness of pharmacogenomic testing for depression. Dr. Raciborski is an expert in causal inference from observational data; she was part of the team that added survival treatment effects models and extended regression models to the Stata software and has spoken to domestic and international audiences about causal inference. Her great loves remain teaching econometrics to applied researchers and improving statistical communication. When she isn’t working, she spends her free time gardening and leading a volunteer group that maintains part of her local soft-surface trail network and teaches kids STEM skills in an environmental stewardship context.

All supporting materials for her June 21, 2023 presentation, "Marginal Effects and Predictive Margins: Choosing and Using the Right Method for Reporting Your Regression Results," will be available for attendees at https://github.com/zabcia/trainings/tree/main/herc23_margins
